This project focuses on capturing honest, intimate family moments through documentary photography. During my little cousin’s baptism, I managed to snap a split-second shot right as the water was splashing over her head. The frame perfectly catches my parents (her godparents), my aunt, and my uncle all looking at her with so much love. I used Adobe Photoshop to clean up the lighting and bring out the textures of the water droplets, turning a fleeting family memory into a crisp, polished visual story.
This is a quick before-and-after project where I restored a vintage family photo that my grandma had packed away in storage. It’s a shot of my mom as a baby and her aunt as a kid, but it was pretty beat up with scratches and liquid stains. I used Photoshop to clean up the surface damage and smooth everything out. It took some patience, but getting all the stains off their faces and bringing the details back made the whole cleanup completely worth it.
I had the chance to sit down and take a portrait of a veteran who used to work at my community college. He served in the military and is currently working as a recruiter, but behind the scenes, he’s dealing with a lot. His wife is critically ill, and as the main provider for his two kids, he has a massive amount of weight on his shoulders. Despite everything he’s going through, he’s still pushing forward and prevailing. I wanted this photo to capture that quiet strength and resilience—showing the real, human side of someone who keeps showing up for his family no matter how tough things get.
